Ingredient List
- 1 box Betty Crocker™ Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
- 40 ml vegetable oil
- 75 ml water
- 1 medium free range egg
- zest of 1 orange
- 100 g (we used liquorice allsorts, dolly mixtures, flying saucers, rainbow chocolates, liquorice wheels, milk bottles, cola bottles)
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 15 g butter
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- zest of 1 orange
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180C, 160C fan, gas 4.
- Mix the egg, water, oil and brownie mix together until well blended (mixture may be lumpy). Fold through the zest of 1 orange and the chocolate pieces.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the greased and lined rectangular tin.
- Bake in the centre of the oven for around 20-25 minutes or until a rounded knife, inserted 5cm (2") from the edge of the tin comes out almost clean. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
- Meanwhile place the chocolate, butter and golden syrup into a microwaveable bowl. Cook in the microwave on 600W for 30 seconds. Stir and continue cooking for another 30 seconds. You should now have a melted sauce. Stir through half of the orange zest.
- Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the brownies and garnish with the remaining orange zest. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes to set the chocolate then slice to serve.
